A Different Perspective

Threw this together for Montage. Didn’t come out exactly how I wanted it to, but from all the things I tried to write the past couple of days, it’s the only one that came out at all.

Jainey liked Wendell. She always had. They’d been friends for a long time and she enjoyed his company and his sense of humor. But she wasn’t in love with him, and she definitely didn’t want to marry him. She’d really hoped it would be fine, and maybe it would have been, if the person she did want to marry wasn’t his older brother, Harry.

Happy birthday, Nick! (Jack/Roy)

It’s a bit early. I hope that’s okay.

It was overly warm, the way Los Angeles tended to be in the summer. Not that Jack minded all that much. A little irritating, sure, but most things were. The noise, for example, and the crowd of people running about the fairgrounds. Irritating, but nothing he couldn’t handle. He was seated on a bench near the Ferris wheel, a large stuffed bear on his lap—it was white, so setting it on the bench itself didn’t seem like the best idea—when he was approached by yet another source of irritation that he could easily handle.

The Very Late Thanksgiving Special/Birthday Gift for Denise

Sorry it took me so long! Also sorry that it’s OOC, but what else would you expect from me?

“Any big plans for Thanksgiving?” Tracy asked as she returned the body to its compartment.

“Oh, not really,” Stefan said. “My parents are going out of town for the weekend, but seeing as I’m working on the morning of and the morning after, I can’t go with them.”

“I suppose it’s just as well,” Tracy said “I’m sure you’d rather spend it with Cole, anyway.”

Basim the Magnificent

This is what I’m taking to Montage today.

Basim Hari hadn’t always known what he wanted from life, but he had always known what he didn’t want. He didn’t want to come home bone-tired from work every night like his father. He didn’t want to go into drilling.

They stared out the front windshield as they sat in absolute silence, the car’s engine not even humming, seeing as there was currently no point in turning it on. Cole was mortified. Jack was… tense.
“I’ll fix it,” Cole said, finally.
“Of course you’ll fix it,” Jack snapped. “That’s not the point. Jesus Cole, the front bumper just fell off my car when we shut our doors! The point is that you’re never driving my car again!”
Another moment of silence while Cole let Jack steam in the driver’s seat.
“Fair enough,” Cole said finally, opening his door. “Come on, we’ll take mine.”

Claudia asked me to find this ficlet she sent me, so here it is! :3

Re-posting this fic I wrote for Nick way-back because she pasted it from fanmail and it was full of typos.
